We\u2019re launching a new game called \u201cthe search\u201d, available on technicalseo.guru<\/a> (Max Prin had the domain and it fits our sense of humor to add a silly technical SEO game here). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the game\nabout?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s an RPG centered around an SEO, aptly named Seo (pronounced see-oh), and her adventures in the search world. In the game Seo answer\u2019s crate\/box\/treasure\/flame\/crystal-spirit\u2019s SEO-related questions, defeats everyday SEO monsters\/bosses, gains skills, gets new tools (weapons), and can make friends to help her in her travels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 18+ SEO practitioners\/experts who are present in the game (huge thank you to all participants!!). They’ll help you gain experience and give special prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it fun? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, I\u2019m not a game designer, so \u2026 probably not *that* fun. And I\u2019ll admit, the plot is basically non-existent (so don\u2019t expect much).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buuuuuut, I think its purpose of \u2013 being a goofy,\nSEO-themed, trivia-based RPG is served. And I hope that people will enjoy it\nfor what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Basically, cut me a lot of slack here\u2026 it\u2019s meant to be\ngoofs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you\nrecommend playing the game?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Well, first set Dash mode within the option to \u201cON\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, if you don\u2019t want sounds, mute the tab or modify in\nthe system options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s really two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Exploratory<\/strong>\n\u2013 (I recommend this way) explore and enjoy the SEO trivia, try to buy things\nfrom venders\/ vending machines. It\u2019s meant to be a simple, stress-free\nintroduction to technical SEO.<\/li>
  2. Speed\nrun<\/strong> – try to get through the game as fast as possible. Let me know your\ntime. Because, why not?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The game is designed as a foil to the technicalseo.expert<\/a> challenge. Both started off as being designed for learning\/skill-development. However, how they approach that goal is very different. The technical SEO expert challenge is more black-box and the clues can be esoteric. It\u2019s a scavenger hunt to find information, requiring some attacking the problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Conversely technicalseo.guru<\/a> is designed to be accessible for anyone who wants to play a game and learn. There\u2019s no stress for getting something wrong, as the question remains available, until the correct answer is selected. It\u2019s a bit goofier and more laid back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Prizes? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Yeah, why not. For the first six people to DM the secret\ncode at the end of the game. Why six, idk, I just like the number six. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How long did this\ntake?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I\u2019m not sure. I started with the idea in early August. I think the item inventory tool the longest\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Will there be\nupdates to the game?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I plan to add more SEOs\/personalities of the industry in the game with special items. . So, you may see some new faces in future updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Can I play on my\nphone?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    It kind of works. But it’s wayy easier to play on desktop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If I leave the site\nand come back will my save exist?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Yeah, it stores cookies, so your save points will exist. I\ndon\u2019t to use them in any way, it\u2019s built into RPG maker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How do I save?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Step over a green, healing\/save tile or right before you\nfight a \u201cboss\u201d, it\u2019ll give you an option to save. You can also do through the\nmenu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Any last words of\nadvice?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Idk, have fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
